is a WordPress CMS based website, and as a PHP written platform, it has many limitations, especially when it comes to hosting auctions. About 5% of our users have reported strange last-minute behavior, auctions ending too soon, or increasing bids even when the auction is over.

Over the past few weeks, we have been squashing bugs left and right, and we finally came to the conclusion that the bugs mentioned above can be attributed to a few factors.

The first and most important factor is that is a cloud distributed website. Since our last year DDOS attacks, we were forced to move the service to the cloud. The plus side is that the website performs much faster, the downside is that it interferes with our auction script. is cached on many servers across the world, and depending on your location, you are always connected to a server nearest you. Our main server is located in the United States, so for example, if you live in Australia and you enter a last-minute bid, it may take a while before that message is relayed to our website. This is why you’re seeing erratic behavior when the auction is over, as the script keeps getting updates at the last-minute. No one is bidding once the clock runs out, it may seem like it, but it is just the cloud updating itself.

The second factor that might affect the ending time is browser plugins. Our script uses UTC+2 time zone, as set by our website. That is the only time the auction listens to, and the product page timer uses JS and local time to adjust it to your timezone.

You might encounter errors if you use any of the following:

  • Browser enhancement / speed plugins
  • Custom caching / compression plugins
  • Stop Script plugins
  • No Java plugins

Make sure your browser is up to date, and check your system time if it’s set correctly. If you’re still experiencing problems, please try another browser, and make sure all setting on it are set to ‘default.’ If you still require help, please contact us, we will try our best to improve your experience.
