Press and Media

Press enquiries, what we can speak to, and the facts worth checking before you publish. Contact [email protected].

We are happy to talk to journalists, researchers and anyone writing about the market in social media accounts. It is a trade most people only encounter through its scams, and we would rather the accurate version got written.

Press enquiries

Email [email protected] with the subject line Press. Tell us your outlet, your deadline and roughly what you are after. We answer press mail quickly, usually the same working day.

What we can help with

How accounts are valued, how transfers actually work, how the common scams are run, what has changed across platforms since 2010, and anything about our own business. We can usually give you numbers and examples rather than generalities.

What we will not do

  • Name clients, buyers or sellers. Both sides of every deal stay anonymous, and that does not change for a story.
  • Disclose prices for identifiable accounts. We can talk about ranges and how pricing works. We will not tell you what a specific account sold for.
  • Comment on other companies. We will talk about practices in this market. We will not brief against named competitors.
  • Help you buy an account for a story where the plan is to misrepresent who is behind it.

The basics, for a fact check

  • Founded 2010, trading continuously since.
  • What we do buy social media accounts with our own funds and resell them. We are not a marketplace and not an escrow service.
  • Volume over 3.2 billion fans and followers placed.
  • Platforms Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, Snapchat, Pinterest, Tumblr, TikTok, Discord, Telegram, Twitch, Reddit, newsletters and websites.
  • Corporate ViralAccounts.com runs under its own name. Transactions are handled by VEYYO LP, a registered Canadian limited partnership.
  • Contact [email protected], the only address we use.

Topics we get asked about most

If you are looking for an angle, these are the questions that come up repeatedly and that we can speak to with real detail:

  • Why follower counts are close to meaningless. What buyers actually pay for, and why two accounts of the same size can differ tenfold in value.
  • How account theft works. The recovery email reclaim, the chargeback after transfer, the fake analytics screenshot. These follow predictable patterns.
  • What platform rule changes did to the market. The 2018 Tumblr purge, the end of legacy verification, the shift of verification to paid subscriptions.
  • Whether any of this is legal. A more nuanced answer than most coverage assumes.
If you are verifying a claim about us

We only ever use [email protected]. If someone has contacted you from another address claiming to represent this company, or you have seen our name attached to a listing on a marketplace, it is not us and we would like to know.

Using our name

You are welcome to quote this site and to refer to us as ViralAccounts.com. Please do not describe us as an escrow service, a marketplace or a broker, because we are none of the three. We buy and resell as principal. Getting that wrong is the single most common error in coverage of this market.
